Sleepability - the homeopathic sleep clinic

Insomnia is directly linked to mental health disorders, lowered immunity, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's and cancer. 1:10 people in the UK use sleep medication (which carry serious health warnings). Through my unique blend of sleep hygiene, expert case taking and Homeopathy, I get to the root of why you're not sleeping and restore your free, 24-hr repeat prescription for wellbeing.

Make today the day you say goodnight to insomnia.

Sleepability

Sleepability is the culmination of my 25 years of learning and experience helping individuals to sleep again using homeopathy and natural remedies.

Prior to becoming a natural sleep expert, I worked in some of the most demanding sectors and experienced redundancy early in my career which was a real blow. I upskilled myself to remain as employable as possible and that was the pattern for 15 years. I constantly delivered on very real commercial deadlines. I know what the bottom line means. And all was well, except I couldn’t switch off, and, increasingly, I couldn’t sleep. I figured I was one of those who thought they get by on 4-5 hours’ sleep per night, would get up, and do it all again the next day.

I knew it was unsustainable and at some level and increasingly felt I was a square peg in a round hole. I tried complementary therapies for stress management and quickly experienced the benefit and the light went on: I knew it was the turning point and I begun a 25 year study period which continues today. I qualified in Holistic Massage, followed by Homeopathy, Stress Management and Natural Nutrition, and I’ve never looked back. I finished a Degree in Homeopathy in 2016 which included advanced case taking and reviewing the solid evidence basis for Homeopathy. I continue to refresh and update my skillset with regular CPD courses.

So let's look at some of the reasons why people don't seek help for insomnia. See my Sleep Mythbusters below.

The Sleep Mythbusters

It never ceases to amaze me how many people think it’s OK to get by on reduced sleep. The average we should aim for is 6-7 hours per NIGHT to benefit from the restorative, healing and evolutionary dream stage of deep sleep (REM). We are wired to sleep at night, not during the day, and is why night working is considered to be a leading factor in the development of cancer.

Increasingly, I am amazed that people fall for the latest app or gadget being marketed to restore sleep, not least because the electromagnetic radiation emitted from the tech can interfere with your sleep brainwaves! Sleep medication is often the last choice, and rightly so, because even short term use brings serious health risks (and that’s sleep researchers saying that!)

Over the past 25 years, I have worked with countless people from diverse backgrounds and with all types of sleep problems. The extensive research and training I have engaged in during that time enable me to confidently state that when you choose to work with me, you will have taken an important first step to achieving safe, natural sleep.

Sleepability does what it says on the box. My practical approach enables you to achieve natural sleep. No tech, gadgets or funky gimmicks – just two people working together to identify the root cause of your insomnia, and using safe, effective, homeopathic and natural remedies. The Roots & Branch Approach

A sleeping pill may seem like the quick fix that takes the despair of insomnia away. And sometimes it may be a lifeline. The exhaustion of sleep deprivation is like no other, but the magic bullet does nothing to address the underlying cause of your insomnia which is where Sleepability comes into its own.

Sleep Hygiene is what most people will have come across if you have spoken with your GP or visited a sleep clinic. This series of practical tips help set the scene for sleep, but do little to address underlying triggers for sleeplessness. Indeed, the research shows that sleep hygiene is not enough to help people improve their sleep.

A more effective route is to work with me at Sleeapability, and benefitting from my roots & branch approach to identify what is keeping you awake. My toolbox is diverse and leads to an effective, bespoke treatment to help you achieve and maintain restorative sleep. This ensures the cause (root) of your sleeplessness is addressed to provide a longer term solution, rather than treating the symptoms of your insomnia (branch) only.

My roots & branch approach also extends to stress management, relaxation techniques and nutritional advice – a skillset acquired over 25 years of learning and working with clients.  Treatment is aimed at easing your body gently off of ‘red alert’ – a natural response to the stress hormones, which keep you awake.

Stress & Insomnia – a catch 22

Insomnia and stress hormones are close bed friends: your body experiences sleep deprivation as a trauma and produces stress hormones, meaning you can’t switch off and sleep! Equally, the symptoms of insomnia present as worry, stress, anxiety, depression, tearfulness. This catch-22 sets up a cycle that is very difficult to break, even more so as you are exhausted.  This is why my roots & branch approach is so effective.

Whether you are an Executive, an athlete seeking to raise your game, a key worker, night shift worker, a parent struggling with a newborn baby, or juggling career and family in uncertain times, a good night’s sleep will help you be the best version of you that you can be.  Don’t be a slave to sleeplessness.

Take the first step today and make today the day you say goodnight to insomnia.
